Steve. What is Living, if not to Get Out and Help Others Lead Less Difficult Lives?

(right-click to download) | When I meet members who finally get enough passive income to meet an exceed their bills, the surprise is that they suddenly don’t hate their jobs as much as they did. because now they’re not just going there for the paycheck. The original mission that they went to the job for, is there. It’s back.

The Passion is Back

How many of you are nurses? How many of you are doctors? How many of you are attorney’s, CPA’s, painters, roofers… and the first time you went to the job, you loved it.

A roofer goes in and finds a place where someone has a leaky roof. And changes that family’s life for the better… safer, healthier… felt good, didn’t it?

You look back, it was more beautiful. Remember that charge? But then, over time, putting on those roofs became what? Just another paycheck.

Then you lose the passion for it.

But I see people all the time, as soon as their passive income meets and exceeds their bills, they’re going back to work for the love of it, not just for the buck.

Help and Serve Other People

Don’t ever get the idea that whenever you get enough passive income to meet an exceed your bills, you will just want to retire under a palm tree with a stout margarita. You will want to know why you are here and how you can serve others.

I was listening to Steven Covey yesterday, one of his CD’s, it’s the new series where each habit of the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People is on a separate CD. It was on the part 3, “First Things First.” At the end, he goes, and I need to find out who exactly said this, but it goes:

What is living, if not to get out and help others lead less difficult lives?

Think about your job. You’re doing something to help other people, aren’t you? You’re making their job easier. Police officers, think about it, what do you do? You’re protecting, making it safe for the banker to walk back and forth from his home to the bank.

Think about your job. You’re helping and serving other people. My recommendation is: go learn the single and multi-family business models at one of our offices, or somewhere else, but start today.

Then start building your business, and get free of the need for a job.

Controversy Around Yesterday’s Show

Yesterday’s show generated a lot of conversation. One person was upset with me, judging by the way he emailed me back… I talked about people being in a dependent set of mind… step 1, I answered him, it was right in front of him, but he couldn’t see it because of… the mentality, the dependent mentality vs. the independent.

I though that I was kind of hard on the guy, but the truth is the emails I got, and the other mentors said: “Steve, you pulled punches. You should have been firmer, you should have been a little harder on that individual.

Don’t know whether that’s true or not, I hope I got the point across.

Personal Responsibility

Freedom comes from personal responsibility. It does not come from someone else taking care of you. It comes from you taking care of yourself. I’m not going to spend too much time on that, I just want to thank all of you that did comment about it or email me, and I want to thank my mentors that talked to me after the show.

In the blog, at LifestylesUnlimited.com, it generated a question. And oddly enough, it’s different from the subject of the show, but still a great question. It comes from a blog reader named John…
