Top 10 Real Estate Markets for 2009

Housing Predictor projects the top 10 real estate markets for 2009. Texas shows up twice on the list with Amarilo at #1 and Austin at #8. Their forecast favors smaller markets with prospects for growth.

AP Writers Predicting Housing Bottom

An AP article this month predicted that we have reached the bottom of the housing recession. The article points out that Texas has all but skirted the recession compared to other parts of the country.

FrugalDad shares Del’s opinion that owning a home is not for everyone as it was portrayed to be over the last few decades. He points out that hidden expenses and lack of flexibility may make owning a home a bad idea for some people.

    Thanks for posting a link to my new blog. I plan to post my real estate investing experiences as they happen in hopes it will help others as they start investing.

    Still haven’t purchased anything, we’ve had no offers accepted, but I’ve been told by others that it took up to 15 offers before they had one accepted. I’m sure it will happen sooner or later and I’ll keep you updated on my blog.
